Role Description
The Workshop Controller plays a pivotal role in supporting the Depot Manager to ensure the workshop operates efficiently, profitably, and in line with Stockport Truck Centre’s service standards and compliance targets. This customer-facing role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing service schedules and workshop flow.
Duties:
Job Administration:
- Raise job cards, estimates, and invoices accurately and promptly
- Update job statuses on the system in real time
Workload Planning & Scheduling:
- Plan and allocate jobs to meet customer deadlines
- Maintain and manage service schedules for all customers
- Monitor job timings and ensure parts availability
Customer & Workshop Liaison:
- Communicate service updates, authorisations, and completions to customers
- Coordinate with workshop staff to ensure smooth job progression
Procurement & Inventory:
- Process purchase orders with precision
- Ensure parts are ordered and available when needed
Site Standards & Safety:
- Maintain depot cleanliness and security
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained
- Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards across the site
