Role Description
The Workshop Controller plays a pivotal role in supporting the Depot Manager to ensure the workshop operates efficiently, profitably, and in line with Stockport Truck Centre’s service standards and compliance targets. This customer-facing role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing service schedules and workshop flow.
Duties:
📋 Job Administration:
• Raise job cards, estimates, and invoices accurately and promptly
• Update job statuses on the system in real time
📅 Workload Planning & Scheduling:
• Plan and allocate jobs to meet customer deadlines
• Maintain and manage service schedules for all customers
• Monitor job timings and ensure parts availability
🤝 Customer & Workshop Liaison:
• Communicate service updates, authorisations, and completions to customers
• Coordinate with workshop staff to ensure smooth job progression
🛒 Procurement & Inventory:
• Process purchase orders with precision
• Ensure parts are ordered and available when needed
🔩 Site Standards & Safety:
• Maintain depot cleanliness and security
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained
• Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards across the site
